   Overview

Imagine traveling to another country.
Imagine your very presence there benefiting the people and the environment.
When you travel with Imagine, you travel responsibly.

Imagine Cambodia was created to make a difference in people’s lives. To find ways to benefit both the traveler and the countries they visit, and to discover as much about each other’s culture as possible.

Imagine Angkor Hotel and Imagine Cambodia Adventures, employs and contracts with local non-profit organizations whenever possible to provide its services and products. Imagine Angkor Hotel operates a hospitality vocational program, which provides free training to vulnerable Cambodians so they may rise out of poverty and have a better future. Imagine Cambodia purchased vans for the Life and Hope Association (NGO) so they can transport orphans as needed. Imagine Cambodia then rents those vans from the Life and Hope Association to provide transportation to its guests. It shares staff with local NGOs as well, paying 80% of their salary in exchange for 20% of their time. This way the NGO benefits by enjoying a professional staff without baring the burden of high salaries. Many of the products used by Imagine Cambodia Adventures are provided by a local sewing vocational school. It also supports local musicians, artists, and crafts people by providing jobs and purchasing their products. Imagine is environmentally conscious as well, buying green and educating guests about the local ecosystem. Imagine Guests always have the opportunity to volunteer their time and talents and get involved with and donate to local community projects.
Imagine traveling for the world.

Experience Unbelievable Sights and Experiences
Watch the sunrise and breathe in sandalwood incense as you walk with the Buddhist monks on their morning alms quest. Spend time with people in their homes and share a meal, teach children English, or take them swimming. Enjoy a lazy afternoon learning the Khmer language and making new friends. Experience unbelievable sights, such as the Angkor Wat temple complex, and an entire floating village, that moves with the floods and droughts, on the largest lake in Southeast Asia.

Capture the essence of Khmer culture and lifestyle with your camera.
Small group 12-day photography adventures place you in the right place at the right time. Imagine Cambodia provides the time photographers need to get just the right shot. Traveling in small groups enables flexibility with the itinerary and allows you to explore locations and experience events most visitors never see.

Dive into Rich and Exotic Culture
Learn to meditate with Buddhist monks and nuns. Take a cooking class and learn the fine details of Khmer cuisine. Shop at the local market for the food you will prepare yourself. Experience the fine art of silk production from the silk worm to the beautifully intricate weaves of the finished products.

Volunteer with a local nonprofit organization and give back to the community.
All adventures include the opportunity to volunteer your time and talents. Work with vulnerable children in an intimate environment, share your culture with them… Realize the magic of empathy and compassion… Connect through the lens of your camera… Embark on the Adventure of a Lifetime
Join photographer Dr. Jon Ryder to exotic Southeast Asia and discover ancient temples, brilliant culture, exotic landscapes, and beautiful people.

Participate in Responsible Tourism
Imagine Cambodia Adventures makes every effort to make a low impact on the environment and local culture, while helping to generate income, employment, and the conservation of local ecosystems. Responsible and sustainable tourism is both ecologically and culturally sensitive. All of Imagine Cambodia’s photography and cultural adventures directly benefit local nonprofit organizations. In Cambodia, Imagine partners with the Life and Hope Association, an NGO that provides hope in life to the children of Cambodia.

Volunteering
Volunteering when not involved in your planned itinerary is highly recommended but not required. If you have a special skill or talent you would like to share, please let the staff of Imagine Cambodia know and they will make every effort to place you in the proper volunteer program.
