The park features a spectacular limestone landscape with an underground river that flows directly into the sea and its lower portion subject to tidal influences. The area represents a significant habitat for biodiversity conservation and contains full- mountain to sea ecosystem representative of all forest types in Asia.
A 45-minute flight from Manila, Iloilo ranks as one of the country’s centers of culture, industry and trade. Iloilo is a place to see period churches and centuries old houses. A grand example is the Miag-ao Fortress Church which was built in 1787 and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list as one of the “Baroque Churches in the Philippines”. The church yellow stone structure is reminiscent of the great Aztec temples with touches of Philippine culture.
